Top proximity figure Ayat. Vaezzadeh marked in virtual meeting

Commemoration of fourth passing anniversary of top Iranian proximity figure and founder of the University of Islamic Denominations was held in a virtual meeting on Friday under the title of "A Review of Proximity Thoughts and Practice of Ayatollah Vaezzadeh Khorasani", reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

Seyyed Mohammad Husseini, president of the University of Islamic Denominations in this meeting referred to the background of proximity activities by the late scholar and his role in establishment and over a decade presidency of major Islamic unity center in Iran.

Former minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance also hailed the late scholar for writing the most comprehensive dictionary of Qur'anic terms and also his rich background of teaching and research in the field of Islamic knowledge.

Seyyed Mohammad Husseini called late Ayatollah Mohammad Vaezzadeh as a pioneer of Islamic unity whose path should be continued by the next generations.

Senior contemporary Islamic thinker, Mohammad Vaezzadeh Khorasani (1926-2016), professor at the University of Mashhad and founder of the University of Islamic Denominations, founder and the first secretary general of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought.

Renowned for his efforts to promote Islamic unity, the cleric pursued his religious studies at seminaries in Najaf, Mashhad and Qom.
