The cleric made the comments in his speech the virtual meeting of intellectuals and thinkers from Latin American countries held as part of the 34th Islamic Unity Conference to stress the features God Almighty has invited man to safeguard, dignity and justice, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He said," By dignity we mean features of man which is specified to human beings only and no other creature is granted with them."
 
The cleric said all behaviors granted solely to human beings are due to his God-given logics with which he finds solutions and choses a different life from that of other beings.
 
He slammed the US and its arrogant allies in the world for standing against dignity of man and ignoring everything else but their interests.
 
Top cleric also referred to justice as another feature man is solely gifted with and highlighted that as a necessity for building constructive relations with others.
 
Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari condemned the US for sparing no injustice on the way to guarantee its benefits.
 
He said," While the US stresses its interests, it only claims to defend the human rights" and addressed the US authorities to say that justice is a prerequisite to claims of human rights.
 
Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought made the comments in the webinar of Latin American regional issues attended by Muslim scholars and thinkers from Latin America.
 
The meeting was held as part of the 34th Islamic Unity Conference held virtually due to the new coronavirus outbreak as Muslim thinkers and religious figures from across the globe discuss their views on "Islamic Cooperation in Face of Calamities and Disasters" in a 6-day event on October 29th–November 3rd.
