Top al-Azhar professor hailed the late Iranian Islamic proximity figure Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri for highlighting the commonalities among different Islamic denominations.

Sheikh Ahmad Karimah, senior Egyptian professor in al-Azhar attended talk show televised on al Mayadeen channel and lauded the strategy of Iranian prominent cleric Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri for promoting solidarity among Muslims, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
"What I clearly remember from late Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri is the particular method he founded for conferences, writings and scientific products when he struggled to reveal the commonalities between different Islamic denominations" said the Egyptian scholar.
 
He lauded Ayatollah Taskhiri for his deep understanding of Islam and promotion of Islamic teachings.
 
Sheikh Ahmad Karimah noted," A strategy pursued by late Ayatollah Taskhiri was giving advice and avoiding conflicts same way that Imam Shafe'i did."
 
The senior cleric underscored al-Azhar endeavors to boost proximity among Muslims and rejected allegations over efforts to convert Muslims to other Islamic denominations.
 
He noted that the top Egyptian university, al-Azhar is in pursuit of settling the disagreements and bridge the gap which has led to formed sects and ethnicities.
 
Late Ayatollah Taskhiri (1944-2020) was the advisor of Supreme Leader in Muslim world affairs and a member of Iran's Assembly of Experts.
 
Former secretary general of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought was globally known for his efforts to promote solidarity among different Islamic denominations.
