“Ayatollah Taskhiri, vigilant against hostile plots”

Senior Lebanese clerics have issued messages following the passing of prominent Iranian religious figure, Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri offering condolences over loss of a leading Islamic unity figure.

Sheikh Afif Nablosi, top Lebanese cleric in his message hailed the late advisor of the Supreme Leader as a vigilant man against enemies, plots expressing regret on the passing of “dear brother and wise friend.”

 
He said,” He was a role model of morality and wisdom in handling the issues of Muslims.”
 
Senior Lebanese scholar also lauded the former secretary general of Islamic Schools of Thought as a guardian of Islam and a soldier in the army of Islamic revolution.
 
Sheikh Abdul Amir Kabalan, chairman of Lebanon’s Supreme Islamic Shia Council in a separate message extended condolences with the Iranian and Lebanese people on passing of Ayatollah Taskhiri and praised the late cleric for years of contribution for Islam and solidarity among Muslims.

 
He said,” We have lost a dear brother and colleague at the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought and found him a persistent person in serving Islam, promoting Islamic teachings and supporting the oppressed nations, particularly Palestinian people.”
 
Sheikh Kabalan referred to the scientific and ideological writings by late Ayatollah Taskhiri stressing the great loss religious centers would suffer in his absence.
 
Member of Iran’s Assemble of Experts and advisor of the Supreme Leader in Muslim world affairs, Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri passed away due to heart disease on Tuesday.
 
Senior cleric was known across the Muslim world for his endeavors to promote solidarity among Muslims as he formerly served as secretary general of top Islamic unity body in Iran, World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought.
