Iranian woman MP asked political figures to change their political approach and make better use of women's potentialities.
 
Fatemeh Rahbar, member of Iranian delegation in women representatives of Islamic Countries Inter Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Damascus asked officials to maintain more unity and jurisprudent-centered approach, stressing the abilities and role of women in political and social arena, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA). 

In the conference on "Women Representatives of Islamic Countries Inter Parliamentary Union", she called Islamic Revolution of Iran as one of the biggest phenomenon of the 20th century and highlighted the role of women in success of the revolution. 

"A blurred border between social roles of genders has led women to lose their key role to support the family," said the MP.

"Using the maximum ability of women in strengthening political capacity is dependent on government's strategies towards family and its theories to protect women and mothers," she said.  

The conference titled "Women Representatives of Islamic Countries Inter Parliamentary Union" in underway in the Syrian capital Damascus to discuss participation of Muslim women in social and political scenes as well as role of Islamic organizations and members of Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC) and also issues threatening Muslim families. 

Women MPs from more than 17 countries including Syria, Islamic Republic of Iran, Lebanon, Palestine, Sudan, Jordan and Iraq are attending the conference.
