Delivering speech at the opening ceremony of the annual event, President Rouhani Congratulated the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and Imam Jafar Sadeq (AS) and underlined the importance of Palestine

as the theme for Islamic Unity Conference 2019, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He slammed efforts to marginalize the issue of Palestine as the prime issue for Muslims across the globe and said," The most important plan against Muslim was to cast doubt on enmity of the historical enemies of Muslim world so that we forget the hostility of the US and Zionist regime with Muslims."

He warned of efforts that meant Muslims to forget the Palestinian lands has been occupied by a group of Zionists and millions of Palestinians are displaced and stressed," Though world

Muslims are determined to restore the Palestinian people in their mother land."

President Rouhani said," Enemies wanted to project Tel Aviv regime as an ordinary country accepted by regional countries, even tried to make a deal on Palestine under the title of deal of the century."

He said," Failure of the US and Zionist regime happened in the light of the vigilance and awakening of the Muslim world."

Iranian president also slammed

the US and Zionist regime as the root cause of the issues in the Middle East and noted," Whatever war, bloodshed and dispersion sparked in the region is rooted in the United States and Zionist regime" and referred to the killing of people in Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen to dividing the Muslim world as some instances of the plots hatched by Washington and Israeli regime.

He touched upon the US ambitions for the Middle East region and noted," We should remove the illusion that the US has or will be a friend to regional people" and added," Those who claimed to

have come to the Middle East in order to bring security to the region are clearly confessing that oil resources are their main target."

He said," The fact that the US is an enemy of the Arab and Muslim world and has nothing to do with saving the Palestinian nation is clear to all" and added," Solution to regional problems is within the hands of regional nations as foreign forces have brought nothing but massacre bloodshed and torture."

President Rouhani referred to the recent protests in some Muslim countries and

said," If the people in Iraq and Lebanon have protested in the streets the country which maintained his support for the former dictators is the US though there are outside players who are making the best of the protests for their benefits."

He expressed regret over some Islamic countries which are in pursuit of friendship with Israeli regime rather than supporting their own nations.

President Rouhani hailed the advancements made in Muslim countries and said," The US has not become more powerful while the Islamic Republic of Iran, Iraq, Lebanon and the entire world of Islam has become more powerful."
