Islamic Unity Conference; mobilization against divisive movements

Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, former secretary general of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought highlighted the effective role of Islamic Unity Conference held concurrent with Islamic Unity Week calling that a mobilization to counter divisive moves made against the world of Islam, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He referred to variety of proximity programs held by the world forum both in and outside Iran and the Sunni-populated regions and highlighted the inclusiveness of the annual Islamic Unity Conference.

“Amid the present situation when the arrogant powers have joined against the Islamic Republic and pursue economic, political and cultural sanctions on the country, Islamic Unity Conference can foil the particular strategies followed by our enemies” said the cleric.

Ayatollah Araki lauded the Islamic Unity Conference as a counter-sanction measure and said,” A great number of renowned figures from different countries attend Islamic Unity Conference representing a nation and participation of each religious figure can be a form of allegiance with the Supreme Leader and support for the Islamic Republic of Iran in global arena.”

He noted that the Takfiri (excommunication) movement has failed and that convergence is the domineering context saying,” Islamic Unity Conference 2019 is an announcement of victory for the resistance movement, Islamic solidarity and the Islamic Republic of Iran against Takfiri movements across the world.”
