Ayatollah Araki meets Tunisian President

In a meeting between top Iranian cleric and president of Tunisia, both sides discussed ways to boost unity among world Muslims.

Grand Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought met with Mohammad al Moncef Marzouki, interim President of Tunisia to discuss cooperation of the country with Islamic unity center in Iran and ways to boost Muslim unity, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

The talks in this meeting were focused on ways to cooperation of Tunisia with Iran’s World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought and necessity of boosting unity among Muslims.

Tunisian President in this meeting highlighted role of the World Forum in spreading the culture of solidarity and dialogue among world Muslims and also calling them to avoid all issues that bring dispersion among Muslim communities.

Tunisian President also extended his congratulations for Iran’s new president elect for winning the trust of the people and the election.

He expressed hope for improvement of Tehran-Tunis ties.

Ayatollah Araki invited Tunisia interim president to visit Iran and noted,” Improvement of bilateral ties awaits two brother nations of Iran and Tunisia when increasing dialogues is quite effective in solving the issues of Muslim world, particularly the crisis in Syria.”

In this meeting which was attended by Iran’s ambassador to Tunisia, Mohammad Muncef al Marzouki, vowed to visit Iran soon.
