Grand Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi, Iranian top cleric and professor at Qom Seminary met with managers and members of research club of Islamic Azad University demanding the utmost attention to prodigies and talented students as the assets of the country, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He referred to the importance of human resources in Islam and said present world is a world that economic, cultural and political promotion is not possible without scientific promotion.

Top jurisprudent rejected the concerns of the western countries regarding Iran’s peaceful nuclear programs and noted,” Western countries do not like any country to achieve nuclear technology and they are not really concerned over development of nuclear weapons.”

Professor at Qom Seminary expressed happiness that anti-Iran sanctions have turned into a challenge and an opportunity that led to the great scientific achievements for Iran.

Iranian cleric also said that Iran stands first in scientific developments among regional countries claiming an outstanding rank in the world and that the occasion has to be valued by all Iranians.

Touching upon great scientific developments made by Muslim scientists, Ayatollah Makarem underlined the necessity of explaining the top position of Muslim scientific figures for the younger generation and said,” If our scientific background, even according to western documents, are explained to our younger generation, then they would feel a new self-esteem.”

According to the professor at Qom Seminary any scientific achievement is a promotion of Islam and noted previous development of Islamic countries prove that religion includes guidelines for different arenas of life.

“Once scientific developments are accompanied by moral commitments and true belief, then it would bring misfortune.” He said and noted that the majority of unhappiness in the world is due to lack of belief and spiritual motivations rather than scientific shortages.
