Facebook blocks Palestinian activist

Facebook filtered the page of a user after she uploaded the photos of a number of Palestinian children massacred in Israel's ongoing brutal attacks on Gaza.

The Italian human rights activist, Rosa Schiano, who is now in the Gaza Strip had taken some pictures from the Palestinian children killed in the Israeli air strikes and released them on her Facebook page but directors of the social internet network blocked her page.

The measure has received strong condemnation from peace and human rights activists especially because Facebook proclaims to be an impartial, unbiased advocate of the freedom of speech and information.

Israel triggered the new round of its assaults against Gazans by assassinating the military chief of the ruling Hamas group on Wednesday followed by dozens of airstrikes on Gaza.

A report by Israel's Channel 10 News said the Zionist army has so far targeted Gaza with over 1000 tons of bombs, shells and other types of explosives.

The Israeli army has bombed 1350 targets in the Gaza Strip since the start of the war on Wednesday, the Israeli Channel 10 News reported.

Israel has attacked over 1350 targets since the beginning of Pillar of Cloud operation on November 14. More than 115 Palestinians have so far been killed by the new Israeli offensive - at least a third of them have been women and children. / HK
