Islamic Activist in an Interview with TNA:

The martyred leader strived sincerely and seriously for the unity of the Islamic Ummah

An activist at the Islamic Center of Washington in America emphasized that the martyred leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei (may God be pleased with him), strived sincerely and seriously to resolve differences among Muslims.
The martyred leader strived sincerely and seriously for the unity of the Islamic Ummah
Dr. Mohammad Al-Asi, on the sidelines of the 40th Islamic Unity Conference, in an interview with the Taghrib News Agency (TNA), in response to the question of what points the martyred leader emphasized in building the theory of "proximity of Islamic schools of thought," noted that the martyred leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, over many long years, traversed the path of establishing unity among Muslims and bridging gaps and differences among them with sincerity and seriousness, employing all his efforts in this path.

Al-Asi added: "The International Islamic Unity Conference, which the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought holds in Iran, is in line with the abundant efforts that the martyred leader – may God increase his reward – undertook so that Muslims may become acquainted with one another."

He stated that a noteworthy point in this regard is that such actions and efforts (in the field of Islamic unity) took place far from any political or diplomatic goals or objectives, and were based on faith and righteous deeds – a matter that was completely evident in the statements, speeches, and programs of the martyred Ayatollah Khamenei (may God sanctify his soul), so that a Sunni Muslim would know that his Shia brother is his brother, and a Shia brother would know that his Sunni brother is his brother, and that there is no difference between them in daily relations, popular bonds, and neighborly ties.

Al-Asi, regarding the difficult conditions the Islamic Ummah has faced in the recent period, especially the Zionist-American war and aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Zionist regime's war against the resistance in Lebanon and Palestine, told Taghrib: "This is a brutal and open aggression that even the American people acknowledge was imposed on Iran, and is contrary to America's interests. They also believe that it is the Zionists who dragged America into this war."

This researcher at the Islamic Center of Washington stated: "Thank God that all the Zionist propaganda trumpets and supporters of global Zionism in America have all fallen silent, because awareness regarding the brutal and oppressive policy of the current US government against the Islamic Republic of Iran, its people, and even the Palestinians is increasing day by day. For the first time in my life, I felt that a high level of popular awareness regarding the Palestinian issue has spread within America, and this popular awareness among Americans reveals the truth that Zionism has an unjustifiable influence over the Senate, the House of Representatives, and the US presidency. Thank God that in this war imposed on the Islamic Republic of Iran, the magic turned back on the magician (evil returned to its perpetrators)."

Al-Asi, regarding the rapid developments the world and the region are witnessing and the increase in popular awareness, especially among the new generations, examined the future of the battle between Islam and global arrogance and the role of Mahdist belief in understanding this conflict. Presenting a Quranic reading of current events, he warned of great dangers ahead and emphasized the necessity of returning to Quranic culture as the foundation and basis of any true movement.

This Islamic researcher residing in America noted in this regard that popular opposition to US government policies regarding what is called the Middle East or the Islamic Middle East is not limited to the American people, but has become a global view and perspective, and world public opinion, especially the younger generation, opposes these policies.

In this regard, he cited a statistic in America according to which 80 percent of people under twenty or twenty-five years of age oppose US government policies toward the region and Washington's actions carried out under the incitement of the Zionist regime – a matter that emphasizes that Israel dominates US government policies.

Al-Asi, who holds Arab nationality, added that this issue is promising for the next stage, because the new generation is the very generation that will assume responsibilities in the coming years, and I hope this situation continues as such. According to him, these youth have aligned themselves with the Palestinian nation.

In this regard, Al-Asi also referred to the recommendations and guidance of the martyred leader of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khamenei (may his soul be sanctified), to Muslim youth in the West, which emphasized the necessity of their entering Islam through the sources of truth derived from the Holy Quran, the Prophetic conduct (PBUH), and the teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS). The signs of this view were manifested in these youth's demonstrations against Israel and their solidarity with the Palestinian nation and their rightful cause.

This researcher at the Islamic Center of Washington, at the same time, expressed concern, saying that when the Zionists feel that the popular uprising against them is expanding, they will take an action (a very great crime) compared to which the September 11 incident would seem like entertainment and amusement.

In this regard, he announced that one of the possible scenarios of the Zionists is using a nuclear bomb or poisoning water in major American cities, so that they can later claim that Muslims are behind these actions (the scenario of the Zionists accusing Muslims).

Al-Asi, continuing his concerns, said: "The midterm elections for the US Congress will be held in the first week of next November, and the ruling Republican Party has lost much of its popularity and popular base. It now fears defeat in the upcoming elections. Therefore, it is not unlikely that it will take an action in line with Zionist interests to turn global and American public opinion, which supports the Palestinians, into opposition."

This researcher of the Islamic world, regarding the role of the Islamic Republic of Iran in changing global power balances, stated that he is working on interpreting the concepts of the verses of the Holy Quran, and in this regard, he has his own particular view.

He stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran is the pioneer of the Islamic future, and if – God forbid – it fails, all Muslims of the world will fail, and its repercussions and consequences could cause a setback throughout the world for several decades.

Al-Asi, at the same time, referred to the existence of an evil power in the world that tries to obstruct the path of Islamic Iran and not allow Iran, with its Islamic leadership, to attain its complete Islamic position.

This researcher at the Islamic Center of Washington, in conclusion, regarding the most important message of the Islamic Unity Conference to the world, told Taghrib that this international Islamic gathering carries the message of Islam and strives to express and explain matters related to Islamic societies from the perspective of "Quranic culture."

He emphasized that there is no doubt that the intention and purpose of the scholars and elites participating is good for reforming the affairs of the Islamic Ummah, but these efforts alone, in the absence of Quranic culture, will not bring the desired results.
