Martyred Leader Viewed Palestine as “Axis of Unity,” Not Merely a Regional Issue
In an interview with the Taqrib News Agency (TNA), Mamosta Mulla Mohammad Mahmoudi, the Friday Prayer Imam of Ravansar, emphasized that the late Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, elevated the Palestinian cause beyond a mere political or geographic conflict.

“The martyred Leader viewed Palestine as the ‘axis of unity’ for the Muslim world,” Mahmoudi stated. He explained that Ayatollah Khamenei believed that if the Islamic Ummah united around the Palestinian cause, sectarian and political divisions would diminish, allowing the collective power of the Muslim world to defend oppressed nations effectively. For the martyred Leader, Palestine represented the defense of human dignity, justice, and resistance against colonial occupation.

Mahmoudi outlined four strategic imperatives for Islamic nations to move beyond rhetoric in supporting Palestine: strengthening diplomatic consensus, expanding cultural and academic cooperation to raise global awareness, utilizing international legal frameworks to hold occupiers accountable, and deepening economic integration to increase the Islamic world’s geopolitical leverage.

He concluded that sustainable unity requires overcoming internal discord, fostering interfaith dialogue, and cultivating a generation committed to the culture of resistance, justice, and the defense of the oppressed.
