Sunni Cleric in Interview with TNA:

The Islamic Revolution Revived Iran’s Islamic Identity

Sheikh Mostafa Nouri, the Friday Prayer Leader of Gallehdar in Fars Province, stated that the Islamic Revolution was a spark in the darkness of its time—awakening Islamic societies, dismantling the foundations of oppression, and fostering social, cultural, religious, political, economic, scientific, and military growth that has empowered the Islamic community to have a meaningful voice today.
The Islamic Revolution Revived Iran’s Islamic Identity
The Islamic Revolution as a Source of Spiritual Revival
Speaking to Taghrib News Agency(TNA), Sheikh Nouri described the Islamic Revolution as a movement that strengthened spirituality within the Islamic community and revived the prophetic tradition. He emphasized that the Revolution, which triumphed in 1979, marked the beginning of numerous blessings for humanity and restored the power and vitality of Islam.
Reviving Forgotten Islamic Values
He explained that the Islamic Revolution revived many principles that had been forgotten or reduced to mere shadows of their original form. It revitalized Islamic spirituality and civilization, awakened the Muslim world, and re‑energized the global Islamic community.
Reintroducing Islam to the World
The Sunni scholar stressed that the Revolution reintroduced Islam to the world and called people back to their religious identity. Until then, the United States and Western powers had imposed their dominance over nations, pushing Islamic identity toward decline and marginalization.
A Response to Widespread Injustice and Moral Decline
Sheikh Nouri noted that before the Revolution, faith‑based living and Islamic values had significantly faded. Oppression by rulers and monarchs had spread across Muslim societies, discrimination and injustice were rampant, and communities were drifting toward irreligion, immorality, and corruption.
A Turning Point for the Islamic World
He concluded by emphasizing that the Islamic Revolution served as a spark in a dark era—awakening Islamic societies, dismantling the foundations of tyranny, and enabling the Islamic community to advance in social, cultural, religious, political, economic, scientific, and military fields. Today, he said, the Islamic world stands with renewed strength and a clear voice.
