Senior Sunni Cleric in an interview with TNA:

IRGC emerges from the heart of society / Enemies of Islam seek to weaken the power of Muslims

He added that it is no surprise that the European Union and other adversaries have taken such a stance, as they oppose the strength of Muslims. According to him, the IRGC—an institution that has dealt heavy blows to these adversaries—is naturally targeted and labeled as a terrorist organization by them.

Mawlavi Es’haq Madani, speaking with Taghrib News Agency(TNA), referred to the long history of European hostility toward the Iranian nation—hostility that has affected religious beliefs, livelihoods, territorial integrity, and the Iranian‑Islamic civilization.
He argued that the human rights Europe claims to uphold hold no real meaning for them; rather, they pursue a version of human rights that serves their own interests, often at the expense of oppressed nations.
He emphasized that the EU’s recent move to designate the IRGC—an
institution rooted in the very fabric of Iranian society—as a terrorist organization is a malicious act. He questioned how an institution formed from within the people and consistently standing alongside them could be labeled in such a way.
The Sunni scholar stressed that such actions are part of broader efforts to weaken the power of Muslim societies. He noted that it is unsurprising for the EU and other adversaries to take such steps, as they oppose the empowerment of Muslims. In his view, the IRGC’s firm resistance against these powers explains why such a strong institution is targeted.
Madani added that whenever the United States and European governments perceive their interests or influence to be at risk, they resort to sanctions and the designation of Muslim institutions as terrorist entities as tools of interference and pressure.
He concluded by stating that these powers even go so far as to influence the appointment or removal of presidents and officials in Muslim countries to secure their own interests—an indication, he argued, of the absence of genuine commitment to human rights.
