“Through unity,” he said, “we can infuse the veins of this heart with hope and honor. Islamic communities must be aware of the dangers posed by disunity, which, like termites, can silently erode the solid structure of the Muslim Ummah.”
Highlighting the spiritual and scriptural foundations of unity, Sheikh Qatali described it as a divine asset rooted in the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the verses of the Holy Qur’an. “These truths, emerging from the core of the divine book, have permeated society to shield Muslim nations from the harms of the times,” he noted.
He further explained that numerous Qur’anic verses emphasize unity, fostering alignment, empathy, and collective thought among believers. “Media outlets,” he added, “can play a vital role in addressing the challenges facing the Islamic world today—issues that deeply pain the heart of every Muslim.”
The Sunni scholar stressed that unity is not merely a concept but a strategic necessity for national strength. “Elites and thought leaders,” he said, “must inspire hope and awareness among the people, fulfilling a major part of the prophetic mission and the vision of Islamic luminaries who strived for this noble goal.”
In conclusion, Sheikh Qatali called for practical unity across all levels of governance. “From the highest to the lowest levels of administration, unity must be pursued in action, not just in words,” he asserted. “Every tool and platform should be used to promote it, and national planning must be structured in a way that prioritizes and safeguards all dimensions of unity.”
