“Qur’an competition, opportunity to highlight Islamic unity”, cleric

The representative of the Leader, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, in Kurdistan Province has praised the Qur’an competitions in Sanandaj as an opportunity to highlight the unity among Islamic denominations in the country.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Abdulreza Pourzahabi, in an interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) highlighted the role of Qur’an in the social and individual life of Muslims expressing hope that the event underway in Sanandaj would further boost solidarity among Iranians.
 
He lauded Iran as a Qur’anic country and underlined the advances made in promoting the holy book of Islam since victory of the 1978 Islamic Revolution.
 
The Shia scholar reiterated the unifying role of Qur’an calling the holy book as an axis of unity among Muslims saying,” Despite differences among ethnic groups and Islamic denominations, all Muslims are united based on the axis of Qur’an.”
 
Referring to the 49th edition of the Qur’an Competitions underway in Sanandaj, Hujjat-ul-Islam Pourzahabi said,” This event can further boost the national solidarity and Shia-Sunni unity, particularly in Kurdistan province which is home to different ethnical groups.”
 
The 48th edition of the Qur’n Competitions has kicked off in Iran’s western province of Kurdistan with hundreds of Qur’an reciters from across the country in attendance.
