Palestinian official:

Sharm El-Sheikh summit, cover for Trump’s new plans for Middle East

The Secretary-General of the Palestinian Popular Struggle Front has called the recent peace summit in Sharm El-Sheikh as a cover for Trump’s new scenarios in the Middle East stressing that the next phases of the agreement will face serious challenges.

Khalid Abdul-Majid said,” Sharm El-Sheikh summit has mobilized a number of Arab, Islamic and European states in support of a plan by Donald Trump for a ceasefire in Gaza and his new project for the new Middle East which he describes as a new path for peace in the region, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

The comments come less than a week after a meeting of more than 20 world leaders that aimed to finalize a ceasefire agreement between Israeli regime and the Hamas resistance movement,

Abdul-Majid said,” The summit is a cover for Trump’s plan for Gaza and the entire region which deems the participants as sponsors of the reconstruction projects in Gaza Strip.”

He added that the summit also aims to cover another major plan that facilitates normalization project with the regional Arab states.

The Palestinian official stressed,” If the rights of Palestinian people are not recognized and fair solutions for the issue of Palestine are not proposed, then there is no guarantee that Israel will enjoy peace and stability either.”

He noted that the summit meant to invite Israeli prime minister and that he rejects the invitation under the pretext of attending religious ceremonies in the occupied lands. All these attempts were merely an attempt to preserve the reputation of Netanyahu and the Israeli regime.

He hailed Iran for rejecting the invitation to Sharm El-Sheikh summit saying that Tehran did not intend to be part of the US projects, likely US-Israeli scenarios for Gaza Strip or play a role in normalization plan.

The Secretary-General of the Palestinian Popular Struggle Front said that the process for Trump’s peace agreement in Gaza begins with a ceasefire and an exchange of Israeli captives with Palestinian prisoners and stop with entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza.

He noted that the plan will be in effect for some time because the world cannot tolerate the crimes by Netanyahu and his cabinet.

Khalid Abdul-Majid concluded that Netanyahu has failed in achieving his objectives in Gaza and what Trump, in his Knesset speech, claimed as victory for Israel is nothing more than an illusion and an effort to support Netanyahu among his administration.
