Tanzanian Islamic Preacher: Unity of the Islamic Ummah Is Key to Defeating the Zionist Regime
In an interview with Taghrib News Agency(TNA), Sheikh Abbas commented on the recent twelve-day war imposed by the Zionist regime and the United States against Iran, and its impact on Islamic nations and the resistance: “This war proved that Iran is a great and powerful country. I follow global news daily, and we witnessed Iran’s strength and resilience in the face of Zionist aggression. It is clear that Israel was defeated and humiliated in this conflict.”

Responding to a question about the role of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei in promoting unity among Muslim nations, and the offensive threats made by Trump and Zionist leaders, Sheikh Abbas stated:
“We must thank the Supreme Leader for his repeated emphasis on preserving the unity of the Islamic Ummah. His call for unity reflects the divine message of God, the Prophet (PBUH), and the Ahl al-Bayt. Unity brings strength and dignity, while division leads to fragmentation and weakness.”
He added: “As long as the Islamic Ummah remains united, the Zionist regime will fail to execute its plans and threats. As the Qur’an says: ‘They plotted, and Allah plotted. And Allah is the best of planners.’”
Regarding the role of Muslim scholars and religious institutions in fostering unity, Sheikh Abbas said: “Scholars have a major role in enjoining good and forbidding evil. These wars and acts of aggression are clear evils, and scholars must raise their voices against them, regardless of the consequences. It is a religious obligation.”
He expressed sorrow over the genocide and starvation inflicted on the people of Gaza by the Zionist regime, and the silence of some Arab and Islamic countries: “By God, these tragedies deeply sadden us and wound our hearts.”
Sheikh Abbas criticized the lack of initiative from Islamic countries in breaking the siege of Gaza: “We see ships from Western activists trying to break the blockade, but no such efforts from Islamic nations. We call on the Islamic world to fulfill its duty of solidarity and support for our brothers in Palestine, especially in Gaza.”
Commenting on the Zionist regime’s so-called “Greater Israel” plan, he said: “These claims are mere propaganda and far from reality. The Zionist regime grows weaker by the day. In Gaza, it has failed to achieve its goals despite initial claims of swift victory. Resistance continues to stand firm.”
He stressed: “If Islamic countries wish to effectively confront this scheme, they must be united. As the Qur’an commands: ‘Hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided.’ Unity is our strongest weapon. The enemy does not distinguish between Islamic sects—it targets anyone who proclaims ‘La ilaha illa Allah, Muhammad Rasul Allah.’ Thus, unity is the only path to confronting our enemies.”
