In an exclusive interview with Taghrib News Agency(TNA) during the 39th International Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran, she criticized the continued silence of Arab regimes in the face of Israel’s brutal crimes.

“The fact that we were able to breathe new life into the Palestinian cause and bring it back to the forefront of global discourse is, in itself, a major achievement,” she said. “As Imam Khomeini stated, Palestine is not just a political issue—it is the issue of Islam.”
Deeb highlighted the importance of homeland in Islamic teachings, citing the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the Imams who emphasized love for one’s land and the duty to defend it against domination.
She noted that since the launch of Al-Aqsa Flood two years ago, numerous initiatives have emerged to raise awareness—especially among youth—about the plight of Palestinians, particularly in Gaza. These efforts counter Western-backed attempts to erase the Palestinian issue and distract young Muslims with trivial and misleading narratives.
“Despite limited resources, scholars and thinkers have successfully redirected attention toward Palestine. We may need broader efforts, but the progress made is undeniable.”
Addressing the contrast between public support and governmental silence, Deeb said: “In Europe, we see popular protests in support of Palestine, but governments remain silent. In the Arab world, the situation is worse—governments actively oppose the Palestinian cause, even as their people stand with us. Thankfully, public awareness is growing, but regimes continue to suppress this awakening.”
Asked about her assessment of Iran’s response to the recent 12-day war imposed by Israel and the United States, Deeb shared her firsthand experience: “We were in Iran during the war and witnessed the resilience, unity, and determination of the Iranian people. They stood firm against the aggression and thwarted the enemy’s plans to destabilize the country and incite unrest. The people’s solidarity and unwavering support for the Islamic Republic were remarkable.”
She concluded by echoing the words of General Qassem Soleimani: The Islamic Republic of Iran is a sanctuary, and we must all defend it. As a Palestinian woman, I saw with my own eyes how the Iranian people stood united to protect their homeland, their beliefs, and the principles of the Islamic Revolution. Their unity turned the enemy’s schemes into failure.”
