Hujjat-ul-Islam Sayyed Mohammad Saeed Azad Mousavi said in an interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA),” Paying attention to common points between Shiites and Sunnis leads to solidarity and unity. He stated: "This is while the mere existence of common points does not lead to unity and solidarity because concerns change over time, so there must be "common concerns" in addition to common points."
He said,” During the 12-day imposed war with the Zionist regime, the Iranian nation, with all its ethnic and religious diversity and commonalities, had a common concern, which led to their convergence and unity.”
The cleric added,” Their common concern was to preserve life, preserve territorial integrity, and preserve religion, and therefore, paying attention to these common points led to unity and solidarity.”
“One of the greatest lessons of the Sacred Defense was that the guardians and elders of society must strive to always keep the common concerns of ethnic diversity alive in order to promote unity and, as a result, generate power”, emphasized Hujjat-ul-Islam Azad Mousavi.
The senior cleric warned against hostile efforts to shift the common concerns of the Iranian nation through the media process and said,” If in the past, preserving national unity, protecting the lives of fellow citizens, and preserving religion were common concerns, now collective concerns have become individual and material concerns, and therefore the effects and consequences of issues such as "snapback mechanism" have had their impact on society.
He concluded,” The more prominent the collective concerns become, the greater the solidarity, which in turn generates power and, as a result, provides the basis for deterrence.”
