Arab Scholar: Iran Is the Flagbearer of Resistance; Disarming the Resistance Is a Betrayal of the Islamic Ummah

“Iran has consistently supported the Islamic and Arab Ummah, particularly the cause of Palestine and al-Quds. Because of its principled stance, Iran has become a target of American and Zionist domination projects in the region.”
He praised the leadership of Iran’s Supreme Leader, describing him as a true representative of the Muslim world and a defender of Islamic causes:
“His sacrifices and unwavering support for the Ummah qualify him to be recognized as a leader of Muslims worldwide.”
Al-Jarba urged all Arab and Islamic countries to stand by Iran and its people, acknowledging their contributions to the defense of Islamic and Arab interests. He called for a united front against Zionist-American conspiracies aimed at destabilizing the region.
He demanded that Arab and Islamic states sever all diplomatic and cultural ties with Israel and take firm positions against U.S. military bases in the region, which he said are used to launch attacks against neighboring nations.
“No one is safe from the American-Zionist project. It targets all—Arab or non-Arab, Sunni or Shia—without exception.”
Al-Jarba also reflected on the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) legacy, noting that his mission was not merely theoretical but implemented in practice. He cited the Constitution of Medina as a model for inclusive citizenship and human brotherhood: “The Prophet declared that all residents of Medina—Muslims, Jews, and polytheists—were part of one Ummah. This practical application of ideal values must be revived today.”
He argued that Iran’s current policies embody much of the Prophet’s humanistic vision and called for a return to the original path of Islam through unity and justice.
Al-Jarba praised Iran’s steadfast support for Palestine and its role in the resistance axis, asserting that Iran has proven over decades that confronting American-Zionist and European colonial projects is possible:
“Lebanon is the only Arab country that liberated its land without compromise or humiliation—thanks to the resistance.”
He noted a growing awareness among Sunni communities about the importance of supporting the resistance axis, and said that efforts to undermine Iran have failed due to its principled stance and strategic resilience.
Addressing attempts to disarm Hezbollah, al-Jarba called such efforts a betrayal of the Islamic and Arab Ummah:
“Arab and Islamic armies have proven incapable of confronting the U.S., Israel, or NATO. The weapon of resistance is the source of our strength and dignity.”
He emphasized that Iran, Iraq, Yemen, and pre-war Syria are exceptions, having maintained their resistance capabilities. He warned that calls to disarm the resistance are treasonous and violate both Islamic principles and international law, which affirms the right of nations to defend their land.
“We, as representatives of Arab tribes and intellectuals, fully support the resistance axis and the preservation of its arms. We endorse calls for volunteer mobilization to defend Islamic and Arab causes.”
