12-day imposed war, a repetition of sacred defense epic

A prominent Iranian cleric highlighted the support and loyalty of the Iranian people during the Iraq war and the 12-day Israeli-imposed war stressing that the Iranian youths stand up to the religious values, Islamic Revolution and its late leader.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Sayyed Mohsen Mahmoudi, the head of the Islamic Development Coordination Council said the 12-day Israeli war on Iran proved that the present youths in Iran are not less capable than the previous generation, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He said,” Iranian youths proved their devotion in face of the enemies despite some people who believed that the new generation do not have the morale of resistance and sacrifice that the previous generation did.”
 
The cleric added,” The 12-day Israeli-imposed war was a new manifestation of the sacred defense which showed the leadership and active participation of people as keys to the victory of Iranian nation.”
 
Hujjat-ul-Islam Sayyed Mahmoudi counted the leadership of Imam Khomeini (RA), active presence of people and also the belief of the people in martyrdom, devotion and sacrifice as the driving power behind victory of the Iranian nation.
 
The remarks by the senior cleric comes as the Islamic Republic of Iran marks the anniversary of Sacred Defense which commemorates the beginning of the 8-year military confrontation between Iran and Iraq.
