The Future of Regional Unity Is Shaped Around Defeating a Common Enemy

13 Sep 2025 - 19:30

Cultural Activist: Recognition of Shared Threats Is Strengthening Solidarity Among Nations

He noted that various sects and denominations across different countries have come to recognize this shared threat, and ordinary citizens are now standing firmly in opposition.
“Today, the Islamic world faces a unified enemy,” Sepahfar stated. “This enemy does not seek to eliminate only Shia or Sunni communities—it aims to destroy and divide all Muslims. Therefore, internal differences must be set aside, and Muslims must stand together in resistance.”
He pointed out that the current discourse on unity is no longer limited to political leadership but has become a grassroots movement. “The people of the region have realized the true nature of this enemy, whose hostility is now undeniable,” he said.
Sepahfar added that the growing awareness among diverse religious groups and the general public is a promising sign for strengthening inter-nation unity. “The future of regional solidarity lies in the defeat of this common adversary,” he asserted.
He also highlighted the role of religious scholars in promoting unity, stating that many clerics—both Shia and Sunni—support the concept of Islamic solidarity. “Scholars must reclaim their identities and guide the youth of the Middle East toward unity,” he said.
Addressing the role of religious elites in the media and propaganda wars, Sepahfar emphasized their responsibility to counter misinformation and ideological manipulation. “Religious and academic elites hold a special position in society. People expect them to resist the enemy’s media empire and expose its tactics. Through their enlightenment, even those unfamiliar with the nature of media warfare can be mobilized to stand against it.”
