Iranian Cleric: Without Vigilance, Muslim States Risk Aiding Israel’s “Greater Israel” Project

12 Sep 2025 - 12:30

Speaking during Unity Week, he described unity as an urgent necessity for both the Islamic world and the Iranian nation, stressing that the enemies of Muslims are the same across the region.

Kouhi said that Israel and the United States are the true adversaries of all Muslim nations — from Iran to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan, Bahrain, Iraq, and Syria — and that Muslims must not view each other as enemies.
He urged leaders and citizens alike to focus on the many shared beliefs that far outweigh differences, including monotheism, the Prophet’s mission, the afterlife, love for the Prophet’s family, the Qur’an, prayer, and the qibla.
He called for cooperation among Muslim states in financial, economic, political, and cultural spheres, noting that organizations such as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Arab League could play a central role but have so far failed to do so effectively.
Kouhi warned that Israel openly seeks to expand its territory to include parts of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, all of Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon — a plan he said some Muslim nations still refuse to acknowledge despite the devastation in Gaza. If Muslim countries remain inattentive, he argued, they will be complicit in advancing this project.
He added that public awareness is growing, with many now recognizing the duplicity of the U.S. and Israel and understanding that Iran is not their enemy. This awakening, he said, could strengthen Islamic unity and influence governments, leading to a more cohesive Muslim world in the future.
