The Friday June 13th Israeli aggression against Iran made the beginning of a war between the illegal regime and the Islamic Republic yet leaving the entire world countries concerned for the global impacts of a new conflict in the already-tense West Asia.
Iran, cautious of a likely Israeli aggression since long, responded to the attack in the third phase of its massive retaliatory operation True Promise III targeting the key positions in the Israeli-occupied territories.
Reactions poured in after the Iranian attacks against Israel, with many hailing Iran’s missile operation for revealing the military might of a country that stood up against the illegal regime.
In an exclusive interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA), Mohd Farhan bin Nor Affandi, a prominent Malaysian scholar and translator, praised Iran’s retaliatory strike against Israel as a demonstration of strength and moral courage.
Mohd Farhan bin Nor Affandi, a Malaysian scholar, translator, and publisher, is the founder and CEO of IBDE Ilham Sdn. Bhd., a company dedicated to translating globally renowned Islamic works. A graduate of Al-Azhar University in Cairo, he has played major roles in promoting international Islamic education, publishing, and policy development.
He said, “Iran’s attack on Israel shows that it is not a global power to be underestimated”. Farhan emphasized that the move highlighted Iran’s military strength, especially in the Middle East, adding, “Iran is the only country bold enough to stand up to Israel.”
Speaking on the sentiment among Malaysians regarding Iran’s retaliatory missile strikes on the occupied territories, he said, “Many Malaysians felt proud and happy with Iran’s response,” he explained. “They see it as a brave act to defend the dignity of the Iranian and Palestinian people, and to teach Israel a lesson.”
However, Farhan voiced concern over the lack of broader support from Islamic countries. He argued that unity is key in confronting aggression. “The support from other Islamic countries has not been strong enough. Ideally, all Islamic nations should unite with Iran to send a strong warning or take military action against the ongoing invasion and massacre in Gaza,” he said.
Farhan observed a shift in public perception on the global image of Iran saying, “Iran has managed to break the international monopoly of power that used to be seen as belonging only to Israel and the United States. This attack proved that other countries can also stand independently and take bold actions,” he stated.
When asked about the outcomes of the twelve-day war between Iran and the Israeli regime, Farhan described it as a defining moment. “For Iran, the achievement is gaining greater public and international confidence in its strength. It has shown the world that it is capable,” he remarked. “As for Israel, the war revealed its vulnerability and showed that its so-called military might can be challenged.”
Regarding the ceasefire, Farhan expressed cautious optimism. “A ceasefire is good for peace, but we must be cautious so that it cannot be used by Israel as a strategy to regroup and attack again” adding,” There must be firm conditions and continuous monitoring”.
