Iranian cleric stresses unique capacity of Ghadir Eid for boosting Islamic unity
A member of Iran’s Parliament has highlighted the capacities of the Ghadir Eid to become an axis of unity in the world of Islam despite hostile efforts to turn the occasion into the ground for division.

Hassanali Amiri Akhlaghi, a member of the Cultural Committee at Iran’s Parliament, reiterated the affection of all Islamic denominations for Ahlul Bayt (AS), household of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), stressing the potentials of Ghadir Eid to boost solidarity among Muslis, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
The cleric made the remarks in an interview with Mehr News Agency conducted on the eve of Ghadir Eid which marks the day Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) introduced Imam Ali (AS) as his successor and the first imam (leader) of Muslims following his demise.
He said,” Despite the efforts by the arrogant powers to set Eid Ghadir as a reason to divide Islamic denominations, Muslims from all schools of thought express their affection for Ahlul Bayt (AS) and the first Shia Imam.
Iranian MP noted that the cooperation of people from all walks of life in celebrations held for Ghadir Eid reveals the high capacity of the occasion for boosting solidarity among Muslims.
He also hailed the high character of Imam Ali (AS) and his popularity beyond the Islamic borders and said,” Outside the world of Islam, even among Christians, people have praised the first Shia Imam.”
