The manager of bureau of Sunni Hajj pilgrims in Iran has slammed the misleading propaganda that promote tarnished images of the Islamic denominations hailing Hajj as an opportunity to settle such misunderstandings.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Hadi Akbari made the comments in an interview with Iran’s state radio on the topic of Hajj and practicing global unity broadcasted on the eve of the major Islamic pilgrimage, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He called “unity of Islamic ummah” as one of the biggest achievements of Hajj referring to a recent meeting of the Leader of Islamic Revolution with Iranian Hajj pilgrims and officials where Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei stressed no benefit of Hajj pilgrimage is bigger that the solidarity of the Islamic nation.
He said,” The rituals of Hajj reveal unity and shared objective of the Islamic nation” and added,” Hajj is not limited to one individual only but to the entire human society.”
The cleric referred to the role of Hajj pilgrimage in settling the misunderstandings among Muslims and said,” Several of the rifts and predicaments of contemporary Muslim world are results of misunderstanding and not deeply rooted disagreements.”
According to the scholar, negative propaganda has brought inaccurate images among different Islamic denominations while there are numerous commonalities among Muslims that can be highlighted.
Hajj brings a unique opportunity for face-to-face meeting among Muslims from all denominations, reaching an accurate understanding of each other and also settling the misunderstandings.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Akbari counted the different levels of Islamic unity as: not taking measures against each other (as the lowest level), mutual cooperation in face of common enemies and also cooperation to establish the new Islamic civilization (the higher level) of Islamic unity.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Akbari reiterated that the world of Islam, in order to reach higher levels of solidarity, needs elimination of misunderstandings and boosting joint cooperation in face of common enemies like the Israeli regime and global arrogant powers.
