Islamophobia not a new phenomenon

Former president of Maulana Azad University said Islamophobia is not a new phenomenon though God Almighty has promised that nothing negative will affect the image of Islam.

Akhtarul Wasey, former professor of Islamic Studies from India, in an interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) quoted Allama Muhammad Iqbal calling Islamophobia as an old phenomenon and that God Almighty has promised in the holy Qur’an that nothing negative will ever affect the image of Islam and Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
 
He referred to the view of Indians on Muslims and said,” In India there are different types of people and I cannot say there is no Islamophobia but the point is overwhelming majority is not supporting Islamophobes.”
 
Indian scholar called the holy book of Islam an “eternal entity” nobody can vanish.
 
He also touched upon the issue of Palestine and said,” The Palestinian land was wrongly occupied” criticizing the west over punishing the Palestinians for what it is basically responsible.
 
Palestinians were wrongly occupied their land and the west basically which are responsible for the Holocaust of Jews, is punishing Palestinians.
