Said Ahmad Zaki Housaini, religious scholar, in an interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) conducted on the sideline of the 36th International Islamic Unity Conference called graduality a quality of the world we live in and that the objectives of Islamic unity and unified Islamic ummah should be achieved gradually too.

He said,” Sometimes the question arises why the Muslim world has not achieved its objectives regarding unity while this too much big demand because hundreds of years of disagreement could not be settled within span of few years.”

Senior cleric quoted prominent scholar Shahid Motahhari (1944-1979) saying that solidarity with Sunni community does not translate to forming a coalition or intermingling into one body.

He added,” Of course forming a coalition is an ideal but that is not our concern since we are in pursuit of solidarity rather than unity as the first one demands fusion which
is not favored by some.”

Said Ahmad Zaki Housaini proposed that a group of authors read and compile all works by leaders and Islamic Revolution thinkers in pre-revolution Iran in order to publish a book on flagbearers of unity for the Sunni community and create a positive view among them.

Director of Nabi Akram Islamic center expressed satisfaction over the life of Muslims in Australia and that enjoy freedom of religion as they have mosques, Islamic centers, schools, libraries and that ladies can wear Hijab as a matter of fact even the system is promoting the pictures of Muslim ladies’ wearing Islamic Hijab.

He said that those promoting Islamophobia are very few and are in fact marginalized though sometimes non-Muslims are justified to be Islamophobes as Muslims and extremists are mistaken to be the same.

Top scholar called Palestine as major issue for the world of Islam and that the situation in Palestine should be discussed so that Christians, Jews and Muslims can peacefully live together like centuries before.
