Islamic Unity Conference, opportunity to promote interaction, dialogue

Dimah Fa’ouri, Jordanian journalist in an interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) related on importance of the Islamic Unity Conference annually held in the Iranian capital of Tehran stressed importance of such conventions in bringing the religions and denominations closer hailing that as an opportunity to on potential commonalities.

She said,” To hold such meetings can promote the culture of dialogue and tolerance towards other thoughts as well as an opportunity to discuss the topics which can serve as the commonality among them particularly when the Islamic Unity Conference is held in cooperation with several Arab and Islamic countries convening them all based on the same objective, boosting Islamic unity.”

She related on Islamic solidarity in Jordan and praised the understanding the notion of Islamic unity and tolerance contrary to endeavors by some groups to spread extremist thoughts.

“People in Jordan are struggling to confront extremism in the country” said she and highlighted difference between religions and denominations as an advantage reflecting the diversity of cultures.

Dimah Fa’ouri also commented on the unity prayer jointly attended by Shia and Sunni Muslims calling that as a beautiful manifestation of coexistence shown to the world.
