Muslims from across the globe start Arbaeen ceremonies in Karbala (photo)

Muslims from across the globe pour in the holy city of Karbala to commemorate the fortieth day after Ashura, martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS), third Shia Imam and grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). Imam Hussein (AS) and 72 of his companions were martyred in the Battle of Karbala back in 61 AH.
