Saudi invasion, grounds for serious presence of Qaeda, Daesh in Yemen

Yemen crisis has no solution rather than a political one and cooperation of all Yemeni political groups is necessary for resolving the crisis in the country.
Saudi invasion, grounds for serious presence of Qaeda, Daesh in Yemen
Morteza Rahimi, Iran’s former ambassador to Yemen in an interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) referred to more than ten months of military invasions by Saudi jet fighters and the so-called Arab coalition to Yemen counting Emirates, Qatar and Saudi Arabia at the leading role of the coalition.

He said,” Countries invading Yemen imagined that they could ascend Yemen in a short time in an attempt to revive the resigned former president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi to the political arena of the country.”

He added,” The move made by the coalition was in contrast with what they should have done during past years and naturally at the end of the two years of transitional presidency of Abd Rabbuh Mansour, presidential election should be held and permanent government should be formed within the frameworks of the law. These all happened when there were signs of disintegration of Yemen; to divide Yemen into six areas as an introduction for collapse of Yemen, a move which was prevented by Ansar Allah and Yemeni army.”

Iranian former ambassador to Yemen stressed,” Unfortunately during the ten months of invasions against Yemen by the Arab coalition, we have witnessed collapse of the infrastructures and serious presence of Al Qaeda and Daesh while Saudi Arabia and its allies have made no special achievement and what adds to this desperation is continuation of the invasions.”

Morteza Rahimi noted,”Based on Yemen’s Ministry of Health, more than 8’000 Yemeni citizens have been killed during the invasions and popular movements, Ansar Allah and Yemeni army have made it to resist and defend themselves.”

According to the former Iranian envoy to Yemen, the Arab coalition was hopeful to siege different areas in a shorter time though they have been blocked behind the entrances and have made no special advancements since Ansar Allah and popular committees have invaded some Saudi bases and this is a proof that the power equation has not changed for any side of the front.

Former Iranian official said, ”Both sides, particularly Saudi Arabia, have struggled for remarkable military achievements in the battle field and make achievements in the political arena though none have been successful.” And added,” Yemeni nation are under siege and without any special facility including fighters and anti aircrafts, they did not have wide defensive reactions though they have defended their borders and have made few counter attacks.”

He referred to the worsening security situation since withdrawal of Ansar Allah from Aden and that the city has changed for a scene for Al Qaeda and Daesh show off.

Morteza Rahimi noted,” Yemeni nation are standing next to the army, popular movements and Ansar Allah with cases of protests against Al Qaeda, Daesh and insecure situation in Southern Yemen.”

He added,” This is proof for the tough situation in Yemen and at the moment there are debates over disintegration of Yemen into several states at the demand of Saudi Arabia and the cooperation council in an attempt to make a way for open waters and Bab el Mandeb.

Former ambassador to Yemen added,” Parallel to these incidents we have also had talks making progress but have no serious achievements due to a likely attention of the sides for Syria situation in priority to the political changes in Yemen.”

He stressed,” There is no solution for the critical situation in Yemen rather than a political one. The fact known by the invading side is that even if its invasions continue for several years, there is no final way rather than political solutions: How can it manage a Yemen which has resisted for such a long time and which government is able to get the power after all these incidents?”

Morteza Rahimi said,” Certainly for a revival of security in Yemen, there is no way but cooperation of all political groups and the future of the country depends on the talks, support by other regional and international  powers and an agreement among all Yemenis for cooperation in power and future of their country.”
