'Hajj issue has noting to do with politics': Qazi-Asgar

"The issue of Hajj has nothing to do with political ties between Iran and Saudi Arabia," said Representative of the Supreme Leader for Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs.

Representative of the Supreme Leader for Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs Hojjatoleslam Seyed Ali Qazi-Asgar severed any tie between the issue of Hajj and political relation between Iran and Saudi Arabia, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

Hojjatoleslam Qazi-Asgar went on to say, "the standing regional issues and political stances should not breed problems for pilgrims."

Qazi-Asgar beckoned to enemies' effort in projecting faked image of Shia people noting, "enemies placed an attempt to create a poisonous atmosphere against Iran and Shia Muslims; that is the reason why Iranian pilgrims should be much more vigilant and refrain from making any provocative remarks."

"This year 64,000 pilgrims will be dispatched to Mecca from Iran including 3,000 people in charge of rendering services to pilgrims," pointed out Representative of the Supreme Leader for Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs.  "A 20 percent decrease in quotas of all Islamic countries for sending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia as declared by the Riyadh government due to ongoing development projects in Mecca and Medina."
