Iran Top unity body signs Mou with Syria Endowments Ministry

The World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought signed a Memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Syria Endowments Ministry with Ayatollah Mohsen Araki in attendance, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

Based on the Memorandum, the two sides are supposed to plan for the future cooperative programs between the World Forum and the Syrian Endowments Ministry, and in doing so a committee consisted of Iranian and Syrian religious thinkers is stipulated to be formed.

The programs are centered around the ways for a better tie among Islamic nations and promoting unity among all Islamic sects and denominations in the World of Islam.

Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought highlighted that in the future the two sides of the Memorandum would cooperate well in various areas.

Ayatollah Araki in his excursion to Syria also visited Syrian officials and religious cleric including Sheikh Badreddin Hasoun, the Grand Mufti of the country, and Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Muallem.

Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought also visited Higher Education Center of Sheikh Kaftarou in Damascus.
