Quran contest for visually-impaired held in India

A two-day national level competition for the visually-impaired was held in Bhatkal, Karnataka State in South West India.

It was organized on March 26-27 by Jamiatul Huffaz Association at Tanzeem Ground.

The main aim of organizing the event was to provide a platform to support the visually-impaired and give them a chance and make them feel part of the society, Sahil reported.

Some 20 participants from all over India took part in the event.
Ten of them were selected to compete in the final round on the second day and the top three received Rs 50,000, Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 as cash prizes, respectively.

India is home to more than 150 million Muslims. India's Muslim population is the world's third largest and the world's largest Muslim-minority population.
