Shia Sunni misjudgment due to lack of knowledge

Iranian cleric attending conference on Karabala in view of the Sunni community counted the joint objectives of Shia and Sunni noting that the misjudgments of the two Islamic denominations is due to lack of knowledge on both sides.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Ali Younesi, Iran's special deputy in religious minorities and ethnic affairs attended the second conference on Ashura (martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS), third Shia Imam) in the Southeastern city of Zahedan saying that such events should highlight the necessary knowledge each Islamic denomination should achieve on the other one, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He said Imam Hussein (AS) to belong to the whole world of Islam praising the third Shia Imam to be known as an axis of unity among all Muslims.
"Islam does not recognize any space for either extremist Shia or radical Sunni who kill the people under the name of Islam." said the cleric rejecting Daesh terrorist group as a fake grouplet which commits crimes under the pretext of Islam.
 
Hujjat-ul-Islam Younesi counted the Supreme Leader of the Islamic revolution and also Iran's President Rouhani as two axes of Shia-Sunni unity.
 
Molavi Abdul Hamid Esmaeel Zehi, prayer leader of Makki Sunni mosque in Zahedan, in this meeting said the uprising by Imam Hussein (As) has been a historical movement and that the third Shia Imam is an example for both Shia and Sunni Muslims.
 
He stressed the belief and high respect of Imam Hussein (AS) among all Sunni denominations and noted the special respect of Ahlul Bayt (AS), household of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) among the Sunni across the globe.
 
The cleric also said that the uprising by Imam Hussein (AS) has opened the way for other uprisings against the oppressors across the world.
He hailed the exemplary solidarity among Shia and Sunni Muslims in Sistan and Baluchistan saying that this unity has led guaranteed security in the Southeastern Iranian Province.
