The Russian Defense Ministry has responded to recent criticisms by NATO regarding its campaign against Daesh in Syria, stating that Washington seems to be the one with accuracy problems.
US not targeting Daesh in Syria: Russian Defense Ministry

“The American and other air forces have been carrying out strikes for a year already, but we have grounds to believe that they have not always… been striking terrorist targets," Sputnik quoted Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Major General Igor Konashenkov as saying on Wednesday.

During a press conference on Tuesday, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg voiced concerns that Russia may not be targeting Daesh Takfiri positions, “but instead attacking the Syrian opposition and civilians."

Remarkably effective strikes

Contrary to claims made by the Western military alliance and media, Russia’s efforts have proven remarkably effective. The Syrian ambassador to Russia says during Moscow’s first week of attacks on Daesh in Syria “about 40 percent” of the Takfiri terrorists’ infrastructure was destroyed.

"In addition, a lot of terrorists have been killed. Now, they are retreating toward the Turkish border, as this country has traditionally provided them with protection," said Riad Haddad.

Meanwhile, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced that four Russian warships had carried out 26 cruise missile strikes against 11 targets belonging to the terrorist group in Syria.

"According to objective control data, all the targets were destroyed. No civilian objects sustained damage,” Shoigu added.

The Defense Ministry also announced that Russian forces had struck 112 Takfiri targets in Syria since launching a bombing campaign against the militants in the Arab country on September 30.
