Iran top unity body raps recent Israeli crimes in Al-Aqsa

The World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought in its newly released statement slammed recent events in Palestine during which dozens of people have sustained injuries after clashes broke out between Israeli military forces and Palestinians at al-Aqsa Mosque as thousands of Muslim worshippers entered the holy site in the occupied Old City of Jerusalem al-Quds after abolition of the Tel Aviv regime’s restrictive measures, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

"The provocative acts and extremist policies of Israel have failed and will not be able to break the axis of Islamic resistance," part of the message went noting  the future conflict with enemies of Islam on top of which the U.S and the regime of Zionism sit are doomed to their failure.

In the long run, according to the released statement of Iran main unity center, "the result of these conflict will be the complete liberation of the land of Palestine and the abandonment of foreign colonialism.

The World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought urged all Muslims to side by defenceless Palestinian nation against Zionism policy not letting them to turn Palestine crisis into oblivion.

It it noteworthy, Muslims had been refusing to hold prayers at the mosque and prayed in the streets around the Old City of Jerusalem al-Quds for almost two weeks after Israel installed security equipment, including metal detectors and cameras, at the sacred compound following a deadly shooting incident there on July 14. Israel’s recent restrictive measures have drawn widespread international condemnations.

Israeli forces also cracked down on a rally that was staged in solidarity with the holy site near the checkpoint after Friday noon prayers, firing tear gas at the worshipers. A number of them suffered suffocation.

Israeli forces have also attacked worshipers in Wadi al-Joz area outside al-Aqsa compound.

The occupied Palestinian territories have witnessed new tensions ever since Israeli forces introduced restrictions on the entry of Palestinian worshipers into the compound in East Jerusalem al-Quds in August 2015.

More than 300 Palestinians have lost their lives at the hands of Israeli forces in the ongoing tensions since the beginning of October 2015.

The Tel Aviv regime has tried to change the demographic makeup of Jerusalem al-Quds over the past decades by constructing settlements, destroying historical sites and expelling the local Palestinian population. Palestinians say the Israeli measures are aimed at paving the way for the Judaization of the city.

The al-Aqsa Mosque compound is a flash point, which is also holy to Jews. The mosque is Islam’s third holiest site after Mecca and Medina in Saudi Arabia.
