cleric slams social media netword for corruption

Speaking to missionaries and preachers at an annual conference at London’s Imam Ali Foundation, Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Murtadha al-Kashmiri, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali al-Sistani’s representative in Europe, said that Takfiri terrorists have various political and criminal branches, Taqrib News Agency (TNA) quoted Rasa as saying.

The Shi’a cleric added that terrorist and extremist groups seriously threaten the people of the world, especially Muslims living in Europe.

He referred to the terrorists’ methods to deceive the youth, saying, “When one member of a family falls to the deception of the terrorist groups, a major tragedy occurs in that family. Accordingly, parents should be cautious of their thoughts and adhere to the conduct and traditions of the Ahlul-Bayt.”

Hujjat al-Islam al-Kashmiri said that second method in which the terrorists seek to deceive the youth is through the influence of unsuitable friends and added, “Normally, friends influence and affect each other’s thought and behaviour. Thus families must be in close and complete contact with their children in order that their children are not led astray by their friends.”

His Eminence explained that mosques are the houses of God and are holy and worthy of respect. “Some mosques have been turned into hubs for unrighteous people and Takfiris who seek to murder innocent people. We should want our children to go to the mosques and attend ceremonies which we have trust in,” he said.

Ayatollah al-Sistani’s representative stressed that social networks are a threat to the youth and said, “Unfortunately, there is no social network monitoring and on these social networks, there are cunning and corrupt individuals who are sitting in ambush for our youth. Often, we do not sit down beside them or spend a lot of time with our children to know if what work they are doing online.”

Hujjat al-Islam al-Kashmiri noted some solutions to save the youth from terrorists and extremist groups, saying, “We must make the authorities and parents aware and hold training courses, especially for the youth, in coordination with scholars and speakers and correctly propagate and spread Islam.”
