More than three prayers have been killed and over a dozen injured in a grenade attack on mosque in the Yemeni capital of Sana’a.

On Tuesday, Yemeni media reported that an explosive device went off at the mosque in southern Sana’a.

According to local reports, a grenade was the source of the blast.

On July 23, a grenade exploded outside another mosque in the capital as worshipers were leaving after midday prayers.

There were no injuries or casualties and no group claimed responsibility for the explosion under a parked car by the Bilal mosque in western Sana'a.

Takfiri militants have exploited Saudi attacks on Yemen over the past 16 months to strike at various targets and wreak havoc.

Saudi Arabia launched its military aggression against Yemen on March 26, 2015, in a bid to bring Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi — who has resigned as Yemen’s president — back to power.
