“No one can desecrate Islamic sanctities.”
Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi, top Shia jurisprudent, in a meeting with Sunni scholars stressed necessity of Muslim unity and referred to his statement banning any desecration of Muslim sanctities, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He referred to his letter to grand sheikh of Al Azhar highlighting the common principles between Shia and Sunni Muslims and demanded for shedding more light on the commonalities.

He referred to importance of unity among Muslims and said,” Enemies, previously, deployed forces directly into Muslim countries, though they are sparking domestic war among Muslims and watch the battle from their haven.”

He said Daesh Takfiri (excommunication) forces have apprenticed the arrogant powers in order to deface Islam noting,” Enemies helped appearance of Daesh to prevent spread of Islam in the world.”

Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi referred to Paris terror attacks and said,” Following the incidents in Paris the facts were revealed by Western media calling Saudi Arabia as the cradle for Daesh dubbing KSA as the father and mastermind of the terrorist group.”

Iranian cleric rejected the teaching material in KSA high school books saying that some of the materials are in fact Daesh ideologies taught to students.

Senior jurisprudent said the issue has led to stigmatization of Muslims in the world while Islam is the religion of affection and blessings, then how can such a religion permit bloodshed of other Muslims?

The cleric quoted verses of Qur’an rejecting dispersion of Muslims and demanded clerics to unite in order to safeguard the security and prevent any move which undermines security by intensification of the disagreements.
