Reports said that the bomb, which went off in the Az Zahir district on Tuesday, also injured 12 others.

The bomb explosion was the fifth to take place in Yemen on Tuesday.

A roadside bomb in the district also left at least nine members of the Houthi movement dead.

The al-Qaeda-linked Ansar al-Sharia terrorist group via a statement claimed responsibility for the blasts in the Az Zahir district.

Another massive explosion rocked the north of the city of Bayda also targeting Houthi members.

Local sources said the car-bomb went off near a stadium, killing 10 members of the movement and injuring dozens of others.

Various parts of Bayda province have been the scene of fighting between Ansarullah members and al-Qaeda terrorists who are supported by armed tribes in the region for months.
