Speaking among reporters on the side line of the 8th summit of the General Assembly of Islamic Radio and Television Union, Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought Ayatollah Mohsen Araki urged Muslim nations to mobilize their effort for countering unauthentic stories and news covered by enemies' media about Muslims and the divine religion of Islam, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
President of Iran top unity center counted media as one of the most important weapons can be used in the very present situation for foiling the plots and machinations concocted by enemies and the arrogant world.
 
Elsewhere in his remarks, Ayatollah Araki appraised programs advanced by General Assembly of Islamic Radio and Television Union (IRTVU) very positive noting, “Thanks God this union has taken fundamental steps to date.” Of those, Ayatollah Araki beckoned to the 8th summit of the General Assembly of Islamic Radio and Television Union mounted in Tehran stressing, “the event was held successfully and I hope the union will attain its set objectives in the future.”
 
“In present critical situation and given soft war launched enemies, Islamic media should mobilized and offer the true facts about Muslim and Islamic principles for people worldwide,” pointed out the Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought.
 
The 8th summit of the General Assembly of Islamic Radio and Television Union (IRTVU) concluded in a ceremony in Tehran on Tuesday night August 18 with a number of ranking Iranian officials in attendance. Titled ““Prophet of Mercy, Mission of Resistance Media,” the event aimed to unite Muslim media to dispel the baseless myths about the connection between Islam and violence.
 
The 8th summit of the General Assembly of Islamic Radio and Television Union hosted political figures, channel directors and media experts from 220 radio and television stations of 35 countries, including Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine, Turkey, Egypt, Kuwait and Azerbaijan.

A number of exhibitions and cultural events were mounted on the sidelines of the summit, including the fifth exhibition of media technology, which showcased the latest media equipment and technologies developed to be used in war-torn and crisis-hit areas. The summit was also accompanied with the 6th Unity Festival and unveiled Halal Media, a new brand for cinema and television production.
