Secretary General of the World Forum for proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought, Ayatollah Mohsen Araki in an exclusive interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) delineated the programs and objectives forwarded in his recent trip to Scotland.

According to the seasoned cleric, taking part in the 2nd international peace and unity conference and visiting religious scholars from every corner of the Islamic world, including Iraq, Lebanon, Egypt, and other countries gathered in the event were of these goals.


Needless to say, Head of the World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thoughts, Ayatollah Mohsen Araki along with other prominent unity faces partook in the event and gave speech on the importance of unity and rapprochement among people from different religions.

The grand Ayatollah went on to add that he also had a meeting with Scottish First Minister, Alexander Elliot Anderson Salmond and other political faces in his last visit.


Ayatollah Araki beckoned to his meeting with Alexander Elliot Anderson Salmond in the first round of unity confab held in Scotland and underline, “the political face at that time demanded us to offer a plan for establishing a religion council and fortunately this plan have been proposed to him few months ago.”

“We proposed a brotherhood lifestyle based on code of ethics in this plan and fortunately they were all welcomed,” said Secretary General of the World Forum for proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought.


Ayatollah Araki also pointed to the Joint meeting of Shias and Sunnis clerics was held at the sideline of the 2nd international peace and unity conference. According to the grand Ayatollah, religious scholars from different countries including Iraq, Lebanon, Egypt, and other countries gathered in the event and offered various suggestions in this amicable meeting.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Secretary General of the World Forum for proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought also mentioned holding 1st Intl Seminar of “Muslim Women’s viewpoints” was among the programs which were fulfilled in his recent trip.


The 1st International Seminar under the banner of “Muslim Women’s’ viewpoints” was held in UK Capital City of London on Friday October 23 with Head of the World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thoughts, Ayatollah Mohsen Araki and Head of the Islamic Center of London, Hojjatol Islam Shomali in attendance, reported Taqrib News Agency.

It is worthwhile to note that in this event General Secretory of the World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thoughts urged Muslims to abide by the Islamic teachings and preserve the lifestyle and traditions of Islam Prophet (PBUH) and Ahlalbayt.


Ayatollah Araki in his remarks with TNA reporter underscored Muslims have far to go so as to fulfill the set objective in the realm of unity and different programs should be forwarded in this area.

Of those, as the grand Ayatollah stressed, launching a new Satellite channel and some other practical steps should be done and taken.
