“Civilization lagging behind due to religious dispersion” cleric

Iranian cleric expressed regret that Islamic forces including the youths and scholars are –literally- burning in the fire of disagreements and that the countries are lagging behind the civilization only because of division among Islamic denominations.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamidreza Basiri, Iranian scholar, in an interview with Mehr News Agency noted that the unity, as said among religious and political scholars, is not a unity of ideologies rather that the leaders of different religious denominations should know and reach agreement on their social assets and their joint enemies, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He said,” This does not reject the need for debate among different denominations but stresses the need to reach unity on common objectives.”

Iranian university professor warned that disagreements provide the enemies for opportunities to carry their hostile plots and said,” We are witness that enemies are expanding the gap between Muslims and manage that in a way that most Islamic countries are under political or military siege of the enemies.”

Iranian cleric stressed that unity is not the concern only between Shia and Sunni but people from any ethnicity or denomination should join each other based on their commonalities.

He called solidarity as a logical principle and quoted the holy book of Islam calling people to maintain their unity.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Basiri noted that Qur’an addresses the whole humanity- and not merely Muslims- to unite in holding into God Almighty and added,” The global government, and the government of the oppressed led by Imam Mahdi (AS), (the last savior of man in Islam) is a unified government which will rule the whole world.
