OIC denounces terrorist plot against Mecca and Jeddah

The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned the terrorist plot that targeted the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Jeddah and Mecca on Friday 23 June 2017.

OIC Secretary General, Dr. Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen, hailed the alertness of the Saudi security men who foiled and countered these terrorist operations.

 He stated,” Those who planned and supported the operations were implementing a sinister plan that sought to undermine security and stability of the holy sites in the country” and added that no true Muslim would violate the sacredness of the Holy Mosque, particularly at the end of the blessed month of Ramadan.

Al-Othaimeen expressed his confidence in the ability of the relevant Saudi authorities to apprehend the culprits, bring them to justice and expose their affiliations and sponsors.

The Secretary General reiterated the full solidarity of the OIC with the leadership, government and people of Saudi Arabia in all steps and measures taken to combat terrorism targeting its security and stability. He renewed the constant position of the OIC against all forms and manifestations on terrorism.
