Interfaith dialogue with no aim of proving righteousness of religions

Grand Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri, an advisor of the Supreme Leader in the Muslim world issues, participated the ceremony to unveil the book “The Cradle of Peaceful Religions co-existence” in the Iranian capital of Tehran, saying that coexistence of religions is not absolute mixing of the religions in each other counting the conditions for peaceful life of the different religions with each other, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He said,” Peaceful coexistence of religions necessitates them to protect their moral features, respect the constitution, maintaining the citizenship rights for all and also to grant freedom
to all religions without violating the rights of other religions.”

The scholar stressed cooperation for the interests of all people and defending the whole society are two features of a peaceful life saying that it is possible in the Islamic Republic of Iran to cross the limits and achieve absolute cooperation and fraternity between all religions.

Ayatollah Taskhiri said,” To discuss interfaith issues is neither to prove the priority or Excellency of our religions over other religions, nor to define the priority of one religion or rejection of another religions, as stressed by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution.”

“We intend to reach a common point and that is to struggle with our thoughts, beliefs, words rather with weapons” said the cleric defining the target of interfaith dialogues in his view.
