Insulting Prophet Mohammad sequel to Islamophobia: MP

A Iranian lawmaker said that insulting Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) is continuation of the Islamophobia scenario pursued by the enemies and arrogant powers.

Gonbad-e Kavous MP, Soleyman Abbasi added in an address to joint morning ceremony of armed forces on the occasion of holding Beit ul-Moqaddas Maneuver by Basij (volunteer forces) that Islam is religion of peace and calm, independence and mankind elevation.

Islamic tenets are against the wills of the enemies and that's for the same reason that they are out to represent Islam as a hostile faith across the world, he said.

Abbasi noted that establishment of the terrorist group of ISIL and sacrilege of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) are in line with preventing the spread of Islam worldwide.

Blasphemous acts will not harm Islam; furthermore, it will help promote unity and solidarity among Muslims, the lawmaker added.

'The only way for annihilating the ISIL is unity and solidarity among Muslim states,' he said, noting that the Iranian nation whether Shia and Sunni will keep vigilance under Supreme Leader's guidelines to ward off threats posed by the terrorist groups.
