Giving speech in a meeting with some of parliament members, the Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought, grand Ayatollah Mohsen Araki hailed activities carried out for promoting unity and proximity among Muslims, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

Beckoned to the recent deadly twin terrorist attacks in the Iranian capital, Tehran, the president of Iran top unity center stressed the prime importance and necessity of preserving unity at the present situation.

Ayatollah Araki pointed out,"the events occurring in Syria, Iraq, Libya, Yemen, Bahrain, and Palestine prove the necessity of forwarding rapprochement related tasks."

The Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought condemned all willful measures and misdeed committed in Muslim countries urging Muslims to stand against these willful measures.

To the grand Ayatollah, the recent movements are plots hatched by the enemies of Muslim nations and the divine religion of Islam. 

Ayatollah Araki urged Muslims to preserve their unity, teaming up against the extremist groups, blocking them in their moving forward for fulfilling their willful aims and objectives. 

Head of the World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thoughts always voices his sad feeling toward the recent firefighting in Tehran noting it is incumbent upon each one of Muslims to promote unity.

On Wednesday morning, terrorists launched simultaneous attacks on Iran’s parliament building in downtown Tehran and on the mausoleum of the late founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini, south of the city.

Dressed as women, the assailants attacked the parliament buildings in the morning. Equipped with AK-47 assault rifles, handguns and suicide vests, the gunmen killed security guards and ordinary people before holding people hostage in the upper floors of the building.

They were all killed by the security forces after an operation that took several hours.

In the other attack at the shrine of Imam Khomeini, one suicide bomber blew himself up while the second one was killed in an exchange of gunfire.

The death toll from Wednesday's incidents in Tehran grew to 17, while more than 40 others have been wounded.
