Terrorism bigger threat than WMD

Senior Iraqi cleric met with United Nations special envoy to Iraq warning against threats of terrorist groups and demanded the international body to fulfill its commitments against terrorist and Takfiri (excommunication) groups in Iraq.

Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Mohammad Saeed Hakim, top Iraqi Shia jurisprudent in a meeting with Jan Kobish, UN special envoy to Iraq, stressing necessity of confrontation with terrorism and prevention of foreign players support for them, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He called international bodies to probe into the financial supports and allies of the terrorist groups and confront them in any possible way because terrorism is a threat against Iraqi nation and all other countries across the globe.
 
Shia jurisprudent warned against terrorism as a global threat and jeopardy bigger than Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) rejecting any ignorance in challenging Takfiri and extremist moves.
 
He added,” World people should follow a determined stance in confrontation with ISIL and challenge them in the media.”
 
Grand Ayatollah Hakim stressed that the financial resources of terrorist groups are known to all though some countries are shining to be introduced.
 
UN special envoy in this meeting hailed the role of religious leaders and their stance in preventing dispersion by ISIL terrorism group, expressing concern over incidents which led to closure of Iraq Parliament.
